The Turkish Accelerator and Radiation Laboratory in Ankara (TARLA) is an accelerator based radiation facility under construction. It is proposed with the Turkish Accelerator Center (TAC) Project since 2006.
TARLA is charged with the responsibility of supplying accelerator based radiation (oscillator FEL in mid - far IR range and Bremsstrahlung radiation) and secondary particles over a broad energy region to a various user community.
Main purpose of the facility is to use IR FEL for researches in material science, nonlinear optics, semiconductors, biotechnology, medicine and photochemical processes. Additionally, the electron beam will be used to generate Bremsstrahlung radiation or for some fixed target experiments.
